Race RECAP: Lake Tahoe 12 Mile XC MTB June 2022

~6500 ft elevation means thin air, low oxygen, and heavy breathing. My post-COVID lungs were still recovering, and my pot smoking habits didnt help either. This race was a doozy for me.

Racing in Lake Tahoe @ ~6000 ft elevation.

With temperatures as low as 40F at the start, racer H encountered snow at the summit of the climb. With temperatures as high as 70F by end of race, thermal management was critical.

Next to me is Mud Club Racer H on the 2021 Trek Supercaliber, he completed the 32 mile race (2 laps of the 16 mile course)
